cool spots: wanderlust opening at the cité de la mode et du design

Les-docks-02

If you are in Paris, you probably know the Cité de la Mode et du Design for staging fashion shows last season and the recent exhibitions for Cristobal Balenciaga and Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons. Yesterday, the Savoir Faire group, made up of Arnaud Frisch, Manu Baron and Antoine Caton, known for their clubs (Social Club and Silencio), opened a new venue located at the Docks, Cité de la Mode et du Design: Wanderlust.

According to Arnaud Frisch “We wanted to devise a contemporary living environment that would abolish the boundaries between creative activities and relaxation spaces. Choosing a fleeting architecture allows a connection between art and architecture in the spirit of institutions such as New York PS1 or London Serpentine Gallery Pavilion."

Wanderlust is made up of a club, restaurant, terrace, open-air cinema, outer bar, and a playground (with petanque for the summer Francophile in you). In the afternoon, performances and debates will take place and the Galliera museum’s exhibitions will be held on Friday nights in a festive atmosphere. Check out the Wanderlust site for this summer's programing which is full of dj sets to dance the summer night's away next to the Seine. One of the events that I am looking forward to is Friday 29th June, Afropolitans, a glance at fashion and current issues facing Africa. Followed by the screening of two documentaries: Sunday in Brazzaville and Dolce Vita Africana. Looks like our summer plans are sorted!

Wanderlust, Wednesday to Saturdays from 18:00 and Sundays from 11a.m. — 32 quai d’Austerlitz - 75013 Paris
