Now that long summer days are on the horizon, we came up with one antidote to the looks of the season with our ongoing love for all things edgy and sweet. Seoul based designer Lie Sang Bong's ss2012 collection grabbed our eyes with his Daecheong inspired patterns, offering a fresh take on ethnic or Tribal. I am using Bong's skirt paired with a white body suit as the focus piece bringing together my intergalactic tribal meets Joan Jetsons inspired look.
Mykita & Bernhard Willhelm Joplin style sunglasses with pink reflective lenses adds a touch of retro futurism similar in shade to Fred Butler's iridescent jewelry in geometric folds. Dutch designer Mattijs van Bergen teamed up with United Nude (co-founded by Rem D Koolhaas) for ss2012, the shape is reminiscent of a fan or a sea creature, the little peak of toe cleavage gives it a flirty appeal. Pristine, glossy, tucked in hair at Jil Sander conjures up images of mannequins, replicants, and android Stepford wives toting Prada's perforated bag. The latest accessory for the season, are nails. While the nails at David Koma look like lacy appliqué in sea foam blue, on closer inspection you will see tribal tattoo inspired devoré created by nail guru Marian Newman. Next step, find the perfect book, the perfect park, and let summer begin. By Anna Barr
