Here are the main lip trends for this fall – dark red, classic red, and nude.
Darker shades of red, such as cherry and burgundy, dominated the runway during fall 2012 shows. Deep and delicious hues were seen at Gucci, Botteg Veneta, Rochas, and Viktor & Rolf. Keep the goth chic vibe on minimum with subtle eyes and fresh skin.
Classic red lipstick never gets old. Wear it in matte, as seen at MBMJ and Thakoon, or gloss it up, as seen at Rick Owens. Two-toned lips were present at Nina Ricci, creating an effect of red lips after a glass of Bordeaux.
To balance out the dramatic and glamorous reds, lips were seen completely nude on runway. This huge 90’s hit may well be coming back to our make-up routines this fall. There is still the undeniable chicness related to this barely-there, minimalistic look. To try out this look, apply concealer around the lips, and dad the centre with cream highlighter or see-through gloss.
