Pantone Color of the Year Emerald Green was seen througout the day, starting at Veronica B. Vallenes
Copenhagen Fashion Week may be on of the smaller fashion events on the calendar, but they sure squeeze a lot in to keep you busy with 45 shows and three major tradefairs. Here is a little rundown on one day at the Scandinavian fashion capital.
9:00 Wake, shower, dress, eat and head out the door at Vesterbro Hotel.
10:00 Arrive at Gallery Int. Fashion Fair to meet Senior Editor at Vogue, Sara Maino, where she gave a talk about the Vogue Talents project with emerging designers in collaboration with Muuse.
10:45 Jump in a taxi to head over to the Stine Goya show.
12:00 Begin shooting streetstyle around the City Hall before the Asger Juel Larsen show begins
12:45 Jump on the Copenhagen Fashion Week press bus, where lunch is waiting for us while we head over to the Charlottenborg Art Hall for the next show.
13:00 Baum und Pferdgarten show begins, I ditch my seat to fight for a spot in the photographers’ pit, luckily I didn’t have to fight as they were all organized and lovely. Models walk out to David Bowie’s Heroes at the end, proving that the Bowie trend has hit Copenhagen.
13:45 Arrive at the Veronica B. Vallenes show kicking off with a Bailey’s cocktail party.
15:00 Run back to the hotel for camera batteries and a quick change.
15:45 Arrive early at Anne Sofie Madsen, one the reasons why we came to Copenhagen!
17:00 Run back to the hotel and send streetstyle pics to Paris, the day is only half way through.
18:00 Head over to Børsen for the Sofifi and Barbara i Gongini shows. They are serving Bailey’s coffe, better mention that Bailey’s is a sponsor. Say hello to my new photography friends, feels like we have been stalking each other all day. Finally get to know their names, but my pronunciation offically sucks. Decided that I would learn Danish, but most of them talked me out of it.
20:30 After back to back shows, jumped on the press bus for one of the biggest events of the week, the By Malene Birger aw13 10th Anniversary show at Copenhagen Royal Theater. For this one I decided to take my seat and go back to being an Editor. However as everyone is all dressed up, I’m in my signature photographer’s combat boots, hope they didn’t notice!
21:45 Made my way back to City Hall for my last show of the night, menswear label Soulland.
23:00 Back at the hotel and ready for bed. Noticed that I didn’t eat dinner and ordered a pizza. To my surprise Northern Exposure is on the telly, bringing me back to my parallel life.
00:00 Realize, that I haven’t seen Northern Exposure for years, and if they are watching it in Denmark, it explains a lot of the street fashion I’ve been seeing outside of Fashion Week! By Anna Barr
